That is the number of copies, Britney Spear’s Sixth studio albums sold during its first week. So is it true that everyone loves an underdog? That any press is good press? That Britney is still hot?

Well as we have all seen over the past couple of years, Britney has been through quite a few ups and downs, including a failed attempt at a comeback, only leading to a bigger one, that happened last week! I think the public is showing that either we all root for the underdog, or everyone loves Britney for the shear fact that she is crazy!

The press following her is always the greatest, but atleast people are still talking about her! More than you or I can say. Now that she is healthy and back, it makes it seem like she one upped us, because no on really expected it. The media created, yes the media creates things!, the image of her being a crazy person, but I believe she is trying to fight back against it, and it seemed to have work.

Now that she is up, it will be interesting to see how fast the portrayal of her in the media will change!

1) Iphone

2) Metallic Gold Iphone Case

That’s it! So I want the Iphone. I mean I think I do, it’s really cool, trendy, and tech savy. Everytime I see one, I become feel of jealousy, wishing I could just have it already. I have the ipod and the air, and now I want the phone! I want a little mac family! Oh, I’m there advertizers dream!

The stuff they put out, I just want! I think part of it is the advertising. As a future PR worker, I dissect all things marketing and advertising, and Apple just gets it right. The ads are simple, clean, and visually appealing, just like the products they advertise. My Macbook Air is the easiest computer I have ever had to work on and Ipod’s are so easy to use 5 year olds are getting them for Christmas.

So yes, Apple wants me to get the Iphone, and all their other products for that matter, but I do as well. I want the internet access, the gps, the touchscreen, the games, the music, and everything else it does! And I want Apple companions for my air and ipod! haha! is that so wrong?

Christmas cards gross me out! I think they are so retro and unnecessary, and still I get them every year from my grandparents and other who feel they are vital to spreading the holiday cheer. The now $4.99 piece of paper you buy me does nothing to make me thing you like me better because I got it. I know you love me, and I don’t need a card to prove it..

This classic tradition needs an update! Not only are these cards a waste of money, they harm the environment. So send an ecard! They are free and environmentally friendly. But that is so unpersonl right? Atleast that is how society sees it, but news flash! A piece of paper isn’t that great either!

Okay so as a Mac user, I have the wonderful option to use ICHAT to contact my friends. Okay so a chat service so what right? Well I actually use it all the time.
I moved to California a little over 5 months ago, saying goodbye to all my friends, who I always thought I could never live without. And even though I move more than 3,000 miles away, I’m not.
I have atleast one video chat a day through ICHAT and feel like I never left my friends. Granted my friends are just on the screen, and I can’t wrap my arms around them, but it makes life here so much better.
I just find it amazing how technology allows for some sanity in life, although it is seen mostly as creating chaos these days. Without my daily video chats, I don’t think I could survive in California! I don’t know if phone calls, or even snail mail would ever cut it!

Having just been in New York a week ago, for the Thanksgiving Holiday, I am writing my first hand experience at surviving all the advertising that occurs in NYC! I thought LA was bad, moving from Florida, but NYC somehow tops the charts of the advertising world.

So with all the advertisements on taxis, billboards (most of which are electronic), and buildings, I found myself not wanting any single thing advertised to me. I found myself ignoring them, rather than looking to see what they were about. I think the advertisements in NYC give an opposite effect of what is supposed to happen, which is you consuming the product advertised.

I saw never really saw an advertisment, I just saw an empty space I didn’t care about. So do advertisers know that by advertiseing to much, they are creating the wrong reaction? By putting one billboard, out of the 100 that line Time Square, do they know it is a waste of money? Do they know I just see them all the advertisments as one entity that is blended into the location, rather than standing out making me want to seek the product?

So NYC, center of the universe, TAKE DOWN YOUR!

So I logged on to WordPress to write a blog, but suddenly changed subjects when I realized the place to log in is labeled by “Already Hip.” This insinuating that bloggers are hip, and well no bloggers aren’t. Is that what it boils down to today? Get in on the latest fad, or lose social credibility? It is true that technology is taking over, but I guess now, the technology can express emotion for you, which is so ironic being that we learned that difference between humans and technology was that it couldn’t express emotion.

In my humble opinion, I don’t give a damn whether or not you blog. I never blogged, before I had to for school…real hip right?? Ha! I think my friends and I are comfortable enough with our emotions and each other that we don’t have to blog about it. I mean who reads blogs anyways? Like do people search them and read random strangers’ blogs? Those people may need friends t, not blogs…which I guess feel like virtual friends to some???

But back to being HIP!! I think the “hippest” thing someone can do is be themselves. If you like to blog, then cool your “hip” but if you don’t blog because you would rather play an instrument, you can be just a “hip”

So by signing in, I don’t feel any hipper than if I never had…I still feel like Chase…the hippest kid I personally know!

Okay, so I just got back from doing a little shopping with some friends and find American Apparel quite unappealing. I mean, there main focus is blah blah blah all our stuff is made in America and their ad campaigns are quite interesting and provacative. (see below)So I’m like okay I can appreciate that. So every time I go in I try and find stuff, then realize I have a plain green t-shirt, a plain blue sweatshirt, and a plain pair of white jeans. Then I add up my total and see that it is like over 150 dollars.

I honestly have no trouble spending money on clothes, except when they are just so plain and ordinary. So i guess if I can buy more stuff, that is decorated, designed, and original, I will buy it…even if it comes from China, Taiwan, or any other country outside the U.S.

Am I, as an American, supposed to ignore the fact that the clothes are boring, overpriced, and just plain plain because they were made in good’ol America? Well I don’t and I won’t. I think they need to step up their clothing, or lower their prices. I think in trying to spread American made products, they are showing the consumer exactly why imported goods are well…good!!

Okay so Sarah Palin on SNL!?!?! Is she a celebrity or the vice presidential candidate? I find it absolutely ironic that Palin would take part in the show, considering the fact that McCain’s campaign loves using the fact that Obama is a celebrity more than presidential candidate. Don’t celebrities usually do guest spots on SNL? Not candidates? Now you may say, Obama was on SNL as well, and I did not approve of this either, but he wasn’t accusing McCain of trying to gain celebrity.

I believe a line in the media for Presidential Candidates, along with there VP’s needs to be drawn. These people are not celebrities, they are political powers that need to focus on the World’s Issues, not making jokes with Tina Fey. I would rather the candidates protecting my future, than making me laugh, that’s what Tina Fey and the rest of the cast is actually hired to do. The media needs to carry the facts, not what the candidates are doing for their time off, who they are eating with, what clothes they wear. I want to know if they are willing to fight for my rights, my neighbors rights, and my future children’s rights.

MEDIA! THIS IS A PLEA! STOP MAKING CELEBRITIES OF THESE PEOPLE…LEAVE IT TO PARIS HILTON!!!

Keep it licious!

Ok so first let me show you what I am going to be talking about:

We have all seen these adds all over the city promoting the recent return of the teen drama, “Gossip Girl.” These sexually charged adds, with the intentionally negative attitude makes the advertising for the hit show very interesting. In America, unlike most countries, we are very closed off sexually. America would rather show yoU 50,000,00 people killed in a movie before they showed you a graphic sex scene. The bedroom has always seemed off limits for our culture, making it a very taboo subject.

This blatant display of sexual conduct shown on the side of the rode is truly a big step in the advertising campaign. They are a little bit of that I want to look, but shouldn’t. The three ads show supposed high school seniors doing things, adults, mostly parents, would like to think their children don’t take part in. This links the photos to the quotes used on the billboards. The three quotes display what was supposed to be negative reviews from adults about the sexual content of the show. From being “every parents nightmare,” to a “nasty piece of work,” the show is using these negatives and making them positives.

The adults’ reviews are coming back to haunt them, by being placed on these billboards. This haunting is done due to the fact that teens and young adults hate being told what to do, so by showing adult disapproval over the show, that in turn makes the targeted audience want to watch it even more.

Although I see this fact as true, considering the 10% increase in viewers who fall under the targeted audience of 18-34, I found a bigger media issue. Why is sex seen as shameful? Who are these adults commenting negatively on a show that portrays some serious issues teens and young adults deal with. Why don’t these parents face their “nightmares,” and just talk to their kids about the issues before they watch it on television. Let’s get smart people. This demographic of teens and adults see people kill each other on tvall the time, but we don’t follow suit. Just because Serena and Dan had sex in a bus bathroom, doesn’t mean the views will, and if they do so what? It’s their life and they will live it.

So my closing thoughts are that America should be less ashamed of the act that gets us all here in the first place, SEX! Yep I said it! We need to not care if a tv show displays an intimate scene every now and then. It is entertainment, not how people are going to live their lives.

Keep it Licious,

Chase

Ok so this stuff about Sarah Palin’s daughter is getting ridiculous. I mean don’t get me wrong, I don’t want her, or McCain elected, but I’m not making my decision about her daughter.

Perez Hilton, on his website, PerezHilton.com, has posted a lot about her, but I agree with a recent post that he stole from Lindsay Lohan’s Myspace. In the blog, she also complains about the coverage, and how easily the issue of her daughter’s pregnancy outgrew the news of her actual plans if she becomes VP. Her blog also quotes Barrack Obama, who stated: ‘”I think people’s families are off-limits, and people’s children are especially off-limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as governor or her potential performance as a vice president.”‘ I see his point is this due to the fact that although she has been chosen for a week, I don’t know anything about her. Oh, forgive me, I do know that her daughter is pregnant, has posted pictures of herself drinking on-line, and that Diddy is accusing her homeland of Alaska as being racist as a whole. Now, media, please, educate me on her views on the War in Iraq, the economy, and social issues, I beg of you! Stop spreading all this useless information, then accuse the public of not voting enough, when we are doing our duty by not voting when we are uneducated about the thing we are voting for. I feel like the information on your candidate’s opponent is crucial to your knowing that you chose the right person based on the compatibility of your beliefs.

Anyways keep it licious

Chase

***UPDATE***

seconds after posting this blog, I go back to Perez and see that Sarah Palin is on the cover of US Weekly! Should like Brangelina or Britney be on there? Not a Vice Presidential hopeful!?!?
